Welcome back to the 500 Doors Real Estate Podcast! I’m your host, Kim Hayden, and today we had the pleasure of speaking with the talented Maria Corina Martinez, a seasoned real estate professional with over 27 years of experience. Her journey through the real estate landscape offers invaluable insights for both new and seasoned agents alike.
When I asked Maria about her team name, the MC Group, she shared a delightful story. “MC doesn’t follow my initials, which are MC, Maria Corina. It actually follows my last name, Martinez, and my husband’s last name, Kwaya,” she explained. Maria and her husband, Robert, met in the real estate industry and formed their team to provide exceptional service to their clients in South Florida.
Maria emphasized the significance of community in her work. “It’s highly important to connect and relate to your community so you can sell your community and have your potential owners feed into the community,” she stated. This connection is crucial for understanding the diverse needs of clients, and her team, which includes members from various backgrounds, is well-equipped to serve a wide range of clients from Miami to Boca Raton.
During our conversation, Maria highlighted the importance of viewing real estate as a long-term investment. “We’ve had two decades of some of the lowest interest rates and actually unsustainable money,” she noted. She believes that many people have been misled by the quick-flip mentality perpetuated by popular media. “Real estate is long-term and legacy; it’s not just a list and flip,” she asserted, reminding us that patience and strategy are key in this industry.
When it comes to local favorites, Maria didn’t hesitate to share her top recommendation: “If you’re in Weston, you have to check out Bellini, an Italian restaurant. We go there three times a week!” This beloved spot not only showcases her deep-rooted connection to the community but also her commitment to supporting local businesses. It’s these personal touches that make Maria not just a real estate agent but a true community advocate.
Maria’s extensive experience has taught her valuable lessons that she readily shares with aspiring agents. “Put the ego on another perspective if you want to become a real estate agent,” she advised. The importance of teamwork and building relationships within the industry cannot be overstated. “It’s about relating to those people and doing it with knowledge so people actually have a great experience,” she explained, emphasizing that success in real estate is about collaboration and understanding.
One of the key takeaways from our conversation was Maria’s focus on building long-term relationships with her clients. “I feel honored that they have chosen me as a real estate advisor,” she shared, reflecting on the many families she has helped over the years. This dedication to her clients is a testament to her character and professionalism.
Maria Corina Martinez’s passion for real estate and her dedication to her clients and community are truly inspiring.
